Matthew was born in May 2024, starting life as a tiny stray puppy in a mountain vineyard village an hour from Loutraki. His journey took a heartbreaking turn when the vineyard owner accidentally struck him with his car, breaking his tiny leg. Though rushed to the vet for surgery, poor aftercare (from this man) led to his leg shattering again in multiple places.
Our vet immediately stepped in, performing a second surgery with metal plates and screws to save his leg. After weeks of healing at the clinic, Matthew came into our care, where his heart could heal alongside his body.
Despite all he’s been through, Matthew is a bundle of joy and love, thriving in the company of people and other dogs. Weighing 27 kilos, he’s a strong and loving boy. Though his leg never fully healed, he uses it like a small cane and moves with surprising grace on his three strong legs.
He’s healthy, his bloodwork is perfect, and his spirit is unbreakable.
Matthew’s hardships haven’t dimmed his light. They’ve only made it shine brighter. Neutered and full of love, he’s ready for a family who will cherish his brave heart and resilient spirit, not just his gentle limp.
Could you be the one to give this courageous boy the forever home he deserves? Please consider adopting Matthew or sharing his story to help him find the loving family he’s been waiting for.
Come meet our treasured Matthew—he’s longing for you!
